Information

History:
The South Church was built in 1847 as Buckie Free Church, the former Free Church School being incorporated and added to, as church halls. In 1859 a section of the congregation seceded and were afterwards constituted as a congregation of the United Presbyterian Church. They worshipped first in a hall which was formerly a Catholic chapel, then in 1870 opened a new church on West Church Street. On the union of the two denominations in 1900, the Free Church became the South United Free Church, and the UP became the West UF Church. Both churches became congregations of the Church of Scotland at the union of 1929. The South Church had mission halls in the Seatown and in Buckpool. The two congregations united in 1970 and used the former South Church premises. The congregation was linked with Enzie in 1997
