History:
The church of Bellie was dedicated to St. Peter. It belonged to the Priory of Urquhart. The ancient church stood outside the present town of Fochabers and its ruins can still be seen. The present church is a Category A Listed Building. Designed by John Baxter. Built in 1797.
Opening Times:
Open daily (entry through Church Halls and Session House) from 10.00am to 3:00pm (except Mondays and Saturdays).
Area:
The main settlement of the parish of Bellie is the village of Fochabers, a planned village centering on the beautiful Square, in which are situated both the church and the Manse. There is a good hotel, a selection of attractive antique shops and a large garden centre, all on the main street.
