Information

History:
The earliest reference to the Church of Rathven is in a deed establishing a hospital of Rathven in 1224-26. The church stood in the old churchyard opposite the present building until 1794, when it was demolished and the present church opened. The parish was originally much larger, taking in the communities of Buckie, Portgordon, Findochty and Portknockie. A church hall was built in Portessie


In the presbytery Plan of 2012 Rathven formed a new linkage with Buckie North
