Moray Presbytery now has an agreed Presbytery Plan which will give effect to its vibrant vision for the future worship, mission and service of the congregations within its bounds.  As a Presbytery we are now looking forward to building up and sustaining faithful communities in this wonderful corner of Scotland.
Could God be calling you to look beyond the obvious and to consider moving to our small presbytery?  Please don’t dismiss the idea of Moray without thinking about the positives there are to working and ministering in such a breathtaking community and to people who are open to God and matters of faith.
Moray Presbytery runs from Cullen in the east along the coast to Dyke and Forres in the west.  From seaside villages and towns to highland and rugged communities in the Speyside and Deveron areas, Moray has something for everyone.  The weather in Moray is very good and is hotter, drier and sunnier than the Scottish average.  It boasts the best of the food, drink and clothing industries that Scotland has to offer – cashmere and kilts, shortbread, soup and top end food manufacture as well as the Whisky Trail.  Wildlife to interest all from osprey and golden eagle, dolphin, capercaillie and red squirrel - a photographer’s dream with views and vistas to astound.  Opportunity for sports and leisure abound in this area and for music lovers there is something to suit all tastes from traditional to jazz to classical.  Golf, rugby, football, hill walking, fishing, sailing, swimming, skiing and many more sports and outdoor activities are all very well catered for.  Public transport is excellent and airports in Inverness and Aberdeen are both international.  Rail links are good and upgrades are planned. The crime rate in Moray is low.  Education at all levels is excellent and now the University of the Highlands and Islands can offer degree courses on our doorstep.  Employment opportunities are numerous.  Many who have previously relocated to the area through the oil and gas industry or the Armed Forces have been more than reluctant to leave the area and the very high quality of life it has to offer.  And we have strong caring communities with genuinely supportive people.
Could you be one of the new ministers whom God is calling to work in collaboration with all our other ministers?  We now have a number of vacancies to suit a wide variety of ministers and ministries – if you feel called to give consideration to any of the individual charges then please contact the appropriate Interim Moderator in the first instance.  All our charges in Moray have unrestricted tenure and are looking for good men and women of vision and commitment.
